The Centre stands as a unique academic and research hub in India, dedicated exclusively to advancing the science and engineering of cryogenics. Since its inception, over the past 50 years, we have built a vibrant interdisciplinary ecosystem that integrates knowledge from mechanical, electrical, chemical, aerospace engineering, and physics to address complex challenges in cryogenic engineering.
Our academic programs are carefully designed to provide a strong foundation in fundamental principles while equipping students with hands-on experience through state-of-the-art laboratories and experimental facilities. We continuously update our curriculum to reflect emerging trends in areas such as superconductivity, hydrogen energy, LNG technologies, and cryogenic systems for space applications.
Research at the Centre spans a wide spectrum—from sustainable energy solutions and cryogenic carbon capture to space propulsion and quantum technologies.
